Job Summary
For our high-stakes defense and aerospace projects in Oak Creek, WI, Owens Industries is seeking a 2nd Shift Lead CNC Machinist.
This isn't production work; it's hands-on, tight-tolerance machining. We need someone who can lead the floor on 2nd shift, handle complex setups on our Hermle and DMG MORI machines, and keep the team focused. You’ll be running tough materials like Inconel and Titanium, so we’re looking for 7+ years of experience, a strong background in GD&T, and some time spent in a leadership role. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and support the 2nd shift CNC machining team, keeping workflow focused and on pace
- Set up and operate Hermle and DMG MORI CNC machines for complex, tight-tolerance jobs
- Machine high-difficulty materials, including Inconel and Titanium
- Interpret and apply GD&T specifications to ensure part accuracy
- Maintain quality standards consistent with defense and aerospace requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience
- Demonstrated experience in a lead or supervisory role
- Strong proficiency in GD&T
- Experience with Hermle, DMG MORI or similar high-end CNC equipment preferred
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred
